My first series of digital cyanotypes – pasty wrapper, ketchup splash, washing up and after dinner speeches. Using my diary of smartphone images I have selected a series of images with a theme and worked through the processes of photography using a hybrid of digital and wet processes.
are shooting, reshooting, selecting, editing and sharing, I can do all these through a combination of wet and digital processes using a smartphone, cyanotype chemicals, scrap paper and the UV light box. I have now begun sharing these skills in the community.
I’ve started taking groups for gentle walks, identifying plants and pressing them, creating cyanotype photograms in the way Anna Atkins would of in 2023.
Creating digital negatives from phone photos is a more affordable and accessible way to create large contact negatives in my kitchen. I am often requested to run sessions that engage people with ‘analogue’ photographic activities and will be sharing this through the active looking project soon.
